Truitt Bark Park
On September 29, 2015, the Sacramento City Council unanimously approved the installation of a dog park at 19th/Q Street. The ground-breaking was held in November of 2016, and the park opened to the public on July 29, 2017. Features include separate fenced-in parks for small and large dogs, lighting, trees and public art.
The design and construction of the park was funded by fees the city collects from developers building new projects in the neighborhood, CADA and additional funding. The park - which also includes a community garden - was named after civic watchdog and longtime midtown activist Brooks Truitt.
